Le Chéile Showcase
The group’s major undertaking in the summer of 2024 was a six-week mixed media showcase titled 'Le Chéile Showcase' at the historic Kenmare Butter Market. Running from June 29th to August 17th, this ambitious exhibition served as a vibrant cultural hub, drawing in an estimated 4,000 visitors to experience the diverse creative expressions of local architects, ceramicists, graphic designers, photographers, and other creative professionals.
The showcase also featured engaging guest speaker evenings with notable figures like designer Paul Galvin and award-winning photographer Rich Gilligan, transforming the Butter Market into a dynamic forum for celebrating Kenmare's thriving design and photography community.
Design Kenmare
In November 2025, founding members of the Le Chéile Collective launched the inaugural Design Kenmare festival, a vibrant pop-up event serving as an official prelude to Ireland's National Design Week. Taking place over three days, the festival brought together a world-class line-up of Irish and international creative thinkers, attracting designers and artists from across the country to one of Ireland’s most inspiring coastal towns.
The festival featured a fast-paced series of 45-minute live panel discussions and talks spanning a broad spectrum of disciplines including graphic, fashion, and interior design, photography, visual art, architecture and craft making. Designed around interactive discussion panels, the event provided an intimate forum for leading voices and audience members to explore honest conversations about creative practice, storytelling, sustainability, and industry challenges. Following its successful debut, Design Kenmare returns as an annual fixture on the national design calendar.
